TrueLoad is a LightWave scene, object, layer, surface and parts loader with real-time OpenGL preview. It has separate modules for Modeler and Layout, which will replace LightWave’s built-in loading tools almost completely. Thanks to this tool you will never have to choose 3d models blindly again.

You can rotate, resize and change the mode of the preview area to Wireframe, Hidden Line, Wireframe Shade, Flat Shade, Texture and Textured Wire.

You can see exactly what you're trying to load before truly loading data into the application, which is useful in projects developed by more than one person or after returning to a project after a long period of time.

TrueLoad key features:

  • Real-time instant preloading and previewing of scenes, objects, layers, surfaces and parts.
  • Configurable user-interface and OpenGL preview area.
  • Supporting both Layout and Modeler.

Preview Mode is a pop-down control where you can choose how 3d models will be displayed. It can be one of Wireframe, Hidden Line, Wireframe Shade, Flat Shade, Texture or Textured Wire.

Y and Z are angles of rotation.

File tab controls which files and directories should be displayed in the tree-list.

Directory control defines the directory that will be listed below. Each time you change this control the whole directory and all sub-directories are rescanned. Default Directory is LightWave standard object folder.

Filter control defines a string that must be present in a file name before it will be listed. To limit displayed entries to objects only, use .lwo, for scenes use .lws. Directories are not checked for this string, but if a sub-directory does not contain any files that meet this requirement, it won’t be shown at all. This limits display to only those that truly have useful files. Default Filter is an empty string, which shows everything.

Display controls various preview settings.

Grid control switches the grid display on/off.

Grid Size controls the size of the grid in meters.

Grid Color control defines the colour of the main grid lines.

Grid Axes Color control defines the colour of the grid lines crossing the origin.

Background Color control defines preview area background colour.

Wire Color control defines colour of 3d model lines in Wireframe, Hidden Line, Wireframe Shade and Textured Wire preview modes.

It's advised to download videos to disk using Save File As... and watch in off-line movie player.

Installing the product

In order to install the program, please extract the archive to some location on your hard disk.

On Windows ®, the archive is in the ZIP format. You will need 3rd party software such as WinZIP, which you can download from http://www.winzip.com (it's not included in the package), or other compatible software to decompress the archive.

The LightWave ® plugin does not require files to be in specific locations, which is a very nice feature. But for easier file management it is recommended that the plugin files (i.e. those with .p extension) be copied to your LightWave ® plugins folder (f.e. LightWave\Plugins\).
